Temporary removal of Forum
Not long after setting up this forum back in April 2009, it has increasingly been bombarded by 'spammers' who are people like vultures that prey on any media they can get into to abuse the free opportunity to promote their (usually dodgy) interests. These parasites are nothing to do with Middleton or even in this country and as they are easy to spot with the similarities, I have had to waste a lot of my time deleting them periodically as they are nothing but a nuisance and will contribute nothing of value to this forum.
Even when I ban by IP, the same IP addresses keep getting through. I cannot waste any more of my time having to keep logging into admin just to get rid of 20 or 30 a time twice a week. No-one else is genuinely using this forum for the reason it was provided at the moment so it is with regret, I have had to let it go as it is taking up too much of my time for the wrong reasons. The link below to the forum has now been removed until further notice or until an alternative solution can be found.

Middleton Chat Forum
Welcome to Middletonia's brand new chat forum! It couldn't be easier to join and post your own messages, questions or information, in fact anything you like if you have something to say. You can use your name or a nick-name if you prefer, build a profile and add a picture of your choice. You can reply to other people's comments and even message other users privately and add them as your friend or foe.
For anyone unfamiliar with using forums, this is just a brief guide on how to get started. Firstly, remember to register initially. You cannot log-in until you have registered which requires a few details. You will be asked to choose a user name and password so you should think about these before registering, although you will be sent a reminder later by e-mail which you should write down too for your own records in case the e-mail is lost. You will also be asked for your e-mail address which will only be seen by admin (me).
Then that is pretty much it and you are ready to log in and can reply to posts, look at other users' profiles and build one of your own disclosing only info you are comfortable with.
It might take a little getting used to at first and as it is new to me too, there might be some teething problems so I would really appreciate you alerting me to any problems you may experience using the forum.

Latest News
Since the launch of the Forum facility, topics include the Olde Boars Head pub, tales of secret passages to the Parish Church, an ancient Middleton football team and the more recent ID card scheme being introduced in Manchester and districts. Have you anything to add?
